When it comes to planning any kind of trip, I think us moms can all agree: Snacks are KEY. And if your kids are like mine, they all have different tastes and want different things to munch on. Anytime we go anywhere, I swear my diaper bag is 80% food, 20% actual essentials (along with whatever else my four-year-old has grabbed from her snack drawer before we hit the road.) But then I saw this idea from Kara over at @whimsicallywonderful and thought: That is genius! A snack tackle box…. a snackle box! Keep reading to see how I turned this pill organizer into a DIY Snack Box! It’s the ultimate mom hack!

What You’ll Need:

  • Pill organizer (Large size)
  • Vinyl
  • Cutting Machine
  • Transfer Tape (linking my favorite kind)
  • **If you don’t have a cutting machine, just use stickers**
  • Snacks! ☺

How To:

Step 1: Buy your pill organizer — I got mine off Amazon, and they come in six different colors! I bought the large size, which as you can see is still small enough to fit the palm of my hand.

Step 2: Jazz it up! Kara used stickers on hers, which you could totally do, but I decided to use my Silhouette machine. I found a varsity letter font online that reminded me of the Stony Clover patches from Target. I think these are so fun! (Side note: I use dafont.com for all my fonts and best of all, they’re free!) I cut out my girls’ names along with some pink flowers and using my scraper and transfer tape, I carefully added them to my boxes.

+PRO TIP: To help the vinyl better adhere, I like to go over it with a hairdryer on low heat.

Step 3: Fill it full of snacks, and you’re done! This DIY Snack Box is compact enough to fit in your purse or diaper bag and I love that I can customize each one for each of my girls. Perfect for travel or day to day! (And hopefully will give you a little peace and quiet as they nibble away, lol.)

Happy snacking!
